This may be Pinterest's most helpful update yet.
Pinterest is a great resource for beauty inspiration. You can find makeup trends you never knew you needed, hairstyle ideas for events, and funky nail designs to spice up your weekly manicure routine. The only problem is that there's so much to draw from, it can be hard to find exactly what you're looking for among the multitude of Pins, especially if you're trying to find beauty ideas and tips that work for your hair or skin tone.
Pinterest knows this, and yesterday launched a new search feature that better supports the diverse Pinning community. A statement from the company reads, "We’ve heard from Pinners that it’s not always easy to find the most relevant ideas among the 8 billion beauty and hair Pins on our site. That’s why we’re rolling out a way to customize your beauty search results by a skin tone range. As you search for makeup tutorials, hairstyles and more, you can select from four palettes to narrow your search. Each palette represents a range of skin tones."

Now, when you type in a beauty-related search, an initial page of results populates with a new tool bar at the top where you can choose to "Pick a skin tone range to narrow your search" next to the other Pinterest category suggestions, like age range, product type, style, and technique.
As makeup brands and retailers continue to follow Fenty Beauty's lead by creating and offering products and tools for all skin tones, it helps that images supporting inclusivity in the beauty community will surface more easily on one of the internet's most popular visual discovery engines.
